What is sinusitis?

For example, inflammation in the nose can give rises to a lot of mucus production. Hence, making it hard to breath because there will be a nasal obstruction and blockage. This situation will obviously make it hard for that person to do his daily activities. This is why this condition is pretty troublesome for some of us.
What are the symptoms and signs of sinusitis?
Every disease in this world will have their own unique symptoms and signs. Same goes for sinusitis. These symptoms and signs are the characteristic for this condition and doctors will usually rely on them in order to make a diagnosis. Below are the list of common symptoms and signs for sinusitis:

What is the cause of sinusitis?
You must be wondering now what the cause for this condition is. Knowing the cause will definitely help a lot. The usual culprit for this condition is infection. Infection can affect the nose and cause inflammation. Chronic sinusitis happens when the condition lasts for more than 12 weeks. For chronic sinusitis, it can be caused by a lot of different causes. The most common one is a viral infection that tends to last longer. Same as acute sinusitis, your doctor will aim to treat your underlying infection in order to help your sinusitis subsides. Another cause for chronic sinusitis is nasal polyps. Polyps is a small projection growth from the sinuses. This condition might be the cause for long-term inflammation. Hence, removing it is the best way possible to treat sinusitis. Lastly, another common cause is deviated nasal septum. You might need to undergo a small surgery in order to correct the deviation. In other words, all the treatment will always aim to treat the cause rather than treating the sinusitis itself.
