Exploring the Hill station of Mussoorie

If you are a mountain person, Mussoorie must be among those few hill stations that you will always love to visit. The hill station does not give you that extreme feeling of being at the mountain and at the same time it offers you the exact feel. Somewhat, I can say, it is the most comfortable hill station that I have ever thought of.

It was my first trip to Mussoorie, still, I did not feel stuck up anywhere in the route. Initially, when I came out of the airport, I was skeptical about the fare that the cab drivers are going to ask for Mussoorie. But soon, after asking just one of them, I realized that the Dehradun airport to Mussoorie taxi fare is reasonable enough and hence took the ride. During the journey, I made a list of places where I can go. Of course, the driver of my taxi acted as a guide also in this case and suggested some of the important places of the hill station. Google was my second backup to get some more reviews on the places.

The Lakes

When you are at a hill station, lakes seem to be even more beautiful that exactly it is. Lake Mist and Mussoorie Lake are two of the most important lakes that you can visit on your trip. Both the lakes offers a romantic background for the couples to spend some alone time. Apart from the couples, it is also an excellent place for people who are out there for the purpose of a picnic.

The Devotional Spots

If you are towards the devotional side, Mussoorie is the place where you will come across a good number of temples. Some of the important temples that can be named as of now are Nag Devta Temple, Jwala Devi Temple, Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple, Surkanda Devi Temple, and many others. Not just the temples, there are also other famous sports for devotion such as Christ Church that is dated way back to the Gothic times.

The Falls

Mussoorie is not just the land of lakes but also it houses a large number of waterfalls. Kempty Falls, Bhatta Falls, Mossy Falls, and Jharipari Falls are some of the important falls of this region.

The Happy Valley

This valley is my favorite as it has a number of amazing spots and elements to praise and experience. Exploring around the location, you will come across the magical land of Cloud’s End. Other places here that can interest you as well are the Tibetan Temple, Hathipaon Park Estate, and many others.

For the Nature Lovers

Apart from the natural scenic beauty, Mussoorie also has a huge list of wildlife beauty to offer. Benog Wildlife Sanctuary and Tiger View Jungle Camp are some of the places of visit that I have personally liked. Pine trees, snow-covered peaks, and cold weather sets a perfect background for options such as jungle safari and others. I preferred trekking, exploring the forest beauty and wildlife of this year.

Other Places That Might Interest You

Mussoorie has an endless number of places to visit. You just need to search and keep on updating your list of tourist attractions. The above-mentioned locations are the places that I have experienced. Apart from these, there are also many other spots to be witnessed and explored. Some more places that I would love to visit on my next trip are Tapovan, Lakha Mandal, Lal Tibba, Gun Hill, Jaspal Rana Shooting Range, Camel’s Back Road, and many others.

The best plan to visit Mussoorie is simply to have not a rigid plan. Simply book a reliable cab in Mussoorie and explore as many places as you can. It is always better to get a general idea of what are the things not to be missed out; else, you can explore the beauty of the place on your own. On the hills, even the maggie tastes super yummy. So, simply pack and get set go for Mussoorie.
